Pam and I are at our family cottage at Qora and the ‪#‎Wild‬ ‪#‎Coast‬ of the Eastern ‪#‎Cape‬ province.

I have been fishing in the ‪#‎Qora‬ estuary on 2 occasions with very little success. Conditions will improve as we move away from the spring tide.

THE FLYFISHING ACADEMY

The recently renovated UFUDU fly fishing shop officially opened on Wednesday 16 Dec.

Trading Hours are from 9am to 4pm.

Now stocked to cater for the serious freshwater (trout, yellow-, tigerfish) and saltwater angler, the shop offers a selection of well tested brands and products as well as giving advice gained over many years of practical experience.

Fishing for Natal Scalies on the ‪#‎Umgeni‬ ‪#‎River‬

On Saturday Duncan Hay, Andrew Mather and I fished for Natal Scalies on the ‪#‎Umgeni‬ ‪#‎River‬ and were well rewarded with several very good sized ‪#‎fish‬. The section of river we fished was on a farm which is situated on the ‪#‎Wartburg‬ road. The river flow was strong and water clarity good. 

Most of the fish were caught using a New Zealand rig with the flash-back nymphs as the point ‪#‎fly‬. Being a ‪#‎conservation‬ area this may well become a venue that I will be fishing at quite regularly in the future.
